Rostov Region, which revealed their attitude to digital electoral technologies. The theoretical significance of the work lies in the fact that it fills an existing gap in the modern scientific literature related to the lack of comprehensive, end-to-end research on the regional specifics of the digitalization of the electoral process. The study offers a detailed analysis using the example of a specific subject of the Russian Federation – the Rostov region, considering the impact of digital technologies on the transformation of the electoral process. The practical significance is determined by the identification of key achievements of the Rostov region (the full-scale implementation of GAS Vybory, the expansion of the use of COIB and video surveillance systems, the development of EPSU electronic services, successful experience in participating in DEG experiments), as well as the identification of pressing issues (digital inequality, low level of digital literacy, cybersecurity risks and disinformation). Based on the analysis, proposals have been formulated for the further development of digital technologies in the electoral system of the region, aimed at increasing its effectiveness, transparency and legitimacy. The authors conclude that a systematic approach is needed to realize the potential of digitalization of the electoral process and strengthen democratic institutions in the Don region.
