53 patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (22 with typical AV junctional reentry, 18 with orthodromic AV reentrant tachycardia, 10 with atrial tachycardia, and 3 with atypical AV nodal reentrant tachycardia).

Overdrive atrial and ventricular pacing (15-beat trains introduced in the high right atrium and right ventricular apex sequentially, with cycle lengths beginning 10 msec shorter than the spontaneous tachycardia cycle length, shortened in successive trains until a cycle of 200 msec was reached or tachycardia terminated).
