This article outlines the adoption of green initiatives in hospitals, indicating their impact on sustainability and health.
This article outlines three key areas: government policies aimed at promoting green and clean projects, the practices adopted by hospitals, and the factors influencing the successful implementation of green and clean initiatives in public hospitals. The research utilized secondary data, employing content and descriptive analysis for evaluation. The findings reveal that the Green Hospital concept emphasizes sustainable healthcare by minimizing environmental impact through energy efficiency, waste management, and eco-friendly practices, which leads to lower operational expenses, enhanced patient health, and a smaller carbon footprint, ultimately fostering long-term environmental and community well-being. Additionally, the Ministry of Public Health established the Green and Clean Hospital Project for public hospitals in Thailand, integrating it into management practices. Consequently, cleaning activities became standard practices across all hospitals. Regarding green hospital initiatives, these efforts begin with energy conservation, the arrangement of green spaces, and various actions designed to mitigate impacts on the community and environment. Furthermore, several factors affect the execution of green activities in hospitals, including policy continuity, stakeholder engagement, prioritization of service users and patients, and the incorporation of these activities into the daily workflow of personnel.
