The workforce development mission of XSEDE (eXtreme Science and Engineering Discovery Environment) was "to provide a continuum of learning resources and services designed to address the needs and requirements of researchers, educators, developers, integrators, and students utilizing advanced digital resources."[12] As part of that mission and in partnership with Pittsburgh Supercomputing Center (PSC), XSEDE 2.0 offered monthly high-performance computing (HPC) workshops from September 2016 to August 2022 to teach practical HPC programming techniques to the research computing community. Four topics were covered on a regular monthly rotation, along with a multi-day “boot camp” held each June.
