The aim of the research is to obtain data on the linguo-cognitive aspect of humor related to men and women in the modern American youth television series "The Big Bang Theory." The article analyzes in detail the linguistic means of creating a comic effect using gender stereotypes in film discourse. Attention is paid to the connection between scientific and everyday discourses in achieving a humorous effect in the television series. The scientific novelty of the research is determined by an integrative approach to the analysis of the interaction of various discursive practices in the transmission of American youth humor, as well as the identification of linguo-cognitive mechanisms for the formation of a comic effect in the context of gender issues. As a result of the study, it was found that the humorous effect in the American youth television series "The Big Bang Theory" is achieved due to the simultaneous functioning of the components of scientific and everyday discourses. In addition, the comic is conveyed through the realization of cognitive dissonance, violation of communicative maxims, and deconstruction of gender stereotypes. Attention is paid to the analysis of traditional ideas about male and female roles in modern youth humor. A tendency to an ironic rethinking of established gender stereotypes through the creation of situations that contradict conventional models of behavior is revealed.
