Policy brief examines employment outcomes in South Africa’s PSET sector, highlighting skills intervention impacts.
This policy brief draws on evidence from two track-and-trace studies conducted by the HSRC on behalf of the ETDP SETA. The first, in 2019, examined the outcomes of SETA-funded skills development interventions implemented between 2015/16 and 2018/19, surveying over 3 800 beneficiaries, including 126 PwDs (HSRC, 2020). In 2022, a follow-up study assessed the impact of COVID-19 on labour market outcomes for PwDs, drawing on a randomised sample of 115 PwDs and 40 non-PwDs (HSRC, 2022).
