Evaluates a new radar signal simulation method for improved angle estimation, suggesting efficiency benefits.
This study proposes a radar-signal simulation method that approximates the array factor using interpolation based on a precomputed look-up table (LUT). Conventional array factor computations suffer from high complexity in multi-target and large-scale array environments. The proposed method efficiently approximates the array factor using LUT-based interpolation, and its performance is evaluated using monopulse angle estimation. Simulation results show that the proposed method achieves a lower angle estimation error than nearest-neighbor selection, while maintaining a performance comparable to that of array factor computation with reduced computation time.
