Archaeological watching brief conducted during mobile phone mast installation, finding no remains in vicinity of a medieval chapel.
An archaeological watching brief was carried out in relation to the instillation of a mobile phone mast and associated access track at Teindside, Near Hawick, Scottish Borders. The site had potential to contain buried archaeological remains due to the presence of a possible medieval chapel and associated burial ground to the north-east of the development area. The chapel is depicted on the OS 1st and 2nd Edition maps lying north of the unnamed road near Old Northouse Cottage with a disconnected burial ground to the south. No archaeological remains were uncovered during the watching brief.
