Desk based assessment clarifies archaeological potential and heritage significance in Guildford, suggesting careful planning is needed.
Desk based assessment draws together the available archaeological, historic, topographic and land-use information in order to clarify the heritage significance and archaeological potential of the site. 6.6 The Proposed Development also includes a series of demolition works including the removal of a number of buildings on site, the partial removal of the existing Bellfield Allotments and the demolition of the decommissioned existing Guildford STW. The Demolition Parameters Plan (Figure 17) illustrates the buildings to be demolished and the Pumping Station which will retained as part of the scheme. Demolition would take place subject to outline planning consent.
