Artificial Intelligence (AI) is gradually altering the tourism sector by offering more personalized, efficient, and ecologically responsible experiences. This article analyzes how AI-powered technologies such as Natural Language Processing (NLP), Machine Learning (ML), and conversational agents transform the ways passengers plan and experience tourism. Drawing on an extensive review of academic and industry literature, we analyze how AI enhances personalization through data-driven recommendation systems, facilitates real-time visitor engagements via chatbots and Augmented Reality (AR), and contributes to sustainable tourism through intelligent resource management. Despite these opportunities, challenges such as algorithmic bias, data privacy concerns, and unequal access to technology persist. This study adopts a qualitative content analysis approach to synthesize existing research, identify implementation barriers, and suggest responsible strategies for <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$A I$</tex> adoption. The findings indicate that while personalization and engagement benefits are well documented, the sustainability dimension, particularly in developing regions requires further empirical validation. The paper concludes by proposing a conceptual framework for ethical and inclusive AI integration in tourism, emphasizing a balance between automation and authentic human experiences. By focusing on stakeholder collaboration and digital inclusivity, this study contributes to the growing discourse on the future of the intelligent tourism systems.
