Personalized Instruction in Business Education

This paper presents a comparison between the standard lecture/discussion format and the Personalized System of Instruction (PSI) format for teaching the introductory course in Production and Operations Management. The data were obtained from student evaluations of two comparable sections taught by the same instructor. The t test was used to identify significant differences. The PSI format produced improvement in almost every measurable category.
