Survey reveals low digital planning tool adoption and satisfaction in Polish logistics firms, highlighting substantial organizational barriers to modernizing intermodal transport.
This paper examines barriers to the implementation of digital tools in transport planning, focusing on intermodal operations in the transport, forwarding, and logistics (TFL) sector. A survey of 80 Polish logistics firms reveals low adoption of planning systems—only 20% use them, and just 10% are satisfied. Key barriers include organizational resistance, lack of awareness, and strategic misalignment. The study highlights a gap between digital tools’ market potential and actual use, especially among SMEs. It also explores user expectations, platform functionalities, and the role of digital tools in enhancing visibility, automation, and carbon footprint tracking—offering insights for system developers and policymaker.
