Highlights the impending shortage of vascular surgeons and the critical need for vascular pathology education among general surgery residents.
Abstract By 2030, there will be a shortage of approximately 400 vascular surgeons. Patients with vascular disease will rely heavily on nonvascular specialists, such as cardiologists, general surgeons, and advanced care providers, for care. It is imperative that general surgery residents are educated on vascular pathology to best meet the needs of patients with vascular disease.
