The use of autologous fat graft (AFG), or lipofilling, has a promising role in the treatment of scar tissue by improving scar contours and tissue quality. However, the unpredictable fat resorption rates remain a major limitation of this technique. To address fat graft survivability and reduce contour irregularities, the authors proposed the innovative use of MatriDerm (MedSkin Solutions Dr. Suwelack AG, Billerbeck, Germany) in conjunction with fat grafting.
