This article provides a scientific analysis of the role of the light industry sector in the development of the economy of Bukhara region, its existing opportunities, and future development prospects. The study examines the dynamics of textile products, clothing, leather and related goods production in Bukhara region during 2016–2025. The article also evaluates the share of light industry in total industrial output, structural changes within the sector, production growth rates, and the sector's impact on regional economic development. The results show that light industry is a strategically important sector for deepening industrial diversification, processing local raw materials, increasing employment, expanding export potential, and developing small business in Bukhara region. The article proposes scientific and practical recommendations for modernizing the light industry sector, improving the cluster system, increasing the share of finished products, and introducing innovative technologies.
