Abstract A high-performance electrochemical sensor based on mesoporous silicon nanowire arrays decorated with gold nanoparticles and polythymine was developed for melamine detection, relying on the specific triple hydrogen-bonding interaction between thymine bases and melamine. The mesoporous substrate enhances selectivity by eliminating interference. The sensor exhibits high sensitivity (1.58 µA/lg CMel), good stability, and rapid response (15 min), making it suitable for food safety inspection.
