In 1962, the University of California Extension Lectures on Engineering and Physical Sciences were given on the major modern applications of combinatorial mathematics by the leading workers in the field. This book is based on these lectures, and they have been revised and extended for publication, under the editorship of Professor Edwin F. Beckenbach.
