It is shown that in insulators heavy particles should delocalize into Bloch waves up to quite high temperatures. The dissipative coupling to phonons can be treated in a one-phonon scattering approximation, giving a T^-3 dependence to the long-time diffusion of the particle. This theory apparently agrees with recent muonium experiments in KCl.
