The exact determination of total losses value in induction motor has an important contribution to the more accurate estimation of induction motor efficiency. Among the various losses of induction motor, it is more difficult to specify the value of stray load losses than other induction motor losses. Also, because the amount of stray load losses in induction motors is significant, stray load losses cannot be ignored in determining the efficiency of induction motors. Therefore, considering the importance of determining the value of stray load losses in determining the efficiency of induction motor, in this article, all available methods for determining stray load losses are briefly introduced and discussed. In addition, suggestions for future research in this field have been provided.
