The high-temperature expansion of the grand thermodynamic potential of nonconformally invariant spin-0 and spin-1/2 gases in an arbitrary static spacetime with boundary is calculated using zeta-function regularization. The expansion is given in terms of the (spin-traced) heat-kernel coefficients. As an application, the general formula is used to consider a massive field in flat spacetime subject to different boundary conditions.
