Among 25 profiles of Typic Hapludalfs at approximately half degrees of latitude from southern Mississippi to southeastern Minnesota, the textural and clay‐mineralogic properties of the soils depend mainly on the sedimentation system at each site. Other physical, chemical, and hydrologic properties that relate to texture and mineralogy are also in part sedimentation‐dependent. Although temperature and precipitation decrease to the north, there is little climatic impact on these properties in these soils.
