Instruments Measuring Housing and Physical Environment as a Domain of Well-Being: A Scoping Review

In Canada, Veterans encounter many challenges as they transition from the military to post-service life including in securing safe and affordable housing and a healthy environment. This scoping review identified and characterised 93 instruments measuring housing and physical environment attributes related to well-being. These instruments assess a range of aspects of housing and physical environment, including cost, aesthetics, traffic, and land use. Few instruments have been developed for or used in Veterans. Housing and environmental well-being research may benefit from incorporating these instruments, and consider assessing the quality and applicability of tools for Veterans to better understand their health and well-being needs.
