We present a genome assembly from an individual male Bitoma crenata (cylindrical bark beetle; Arthropoda; Insecta; Coleoptera; Zopheridae). The genome sequence has a total length of 154.47 megabases. Most of the assembly (99.4%) is scaffolded into 12 chromosomal pseudomolecules, including the X and Y sex chromosomes. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 20.38 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
