Study optimizes braking characteristics in drivers, suggesting improved handling and performance.
The purpose of this study is to propose braking characteristics that are easy for drivers to handle in a by wire system in which braking and driving operations are performed by hand and pedal. Genetic algorithm optimization of braking characteristics showed that the best deceleration tracking was achieved by an FG diagram with a logarithmic function shape. In contrast, the slope of the optimal FG diagram tended to decrease as the driver's proportional gain increased.
