Subluxation or dislocation of the extensor tendon at the metacarpophalangeal joint can occur as a result of sagittal band injury. This condition most commonly arises from rupture of the radial sagittal band, leading to ulnar subluxation or dislocation of the tendon. These injuries typically occur in the middle finger, whereas involvement of the thumb is rarely reported in the domestic literature. Here, we present a case of extensor tendon dislocation at the thumb metacarpophalangeal joint caused by sagittal band injury that was successfully treated surgically.
