Comparative analysis reveals distinct linguocultural representations of innovation and resilience in global and Russian corporate communications.
The aim of this study is to identify and compare the linguacultural specifics of the representation of the concepts of INNOVATION and RESILIENCE using ESG reports and press releases for 2024–2025. The objectives of the study include: forming a representative corpus of texts; conducting a frequency and collocation analysis of lexemes representing the studied concepts; identifying discursive strategies for their presentation. The methodological basis consists of concept theory in cognitive linguistics and the principles of comparative linguacultural studies. Data interpretation is based on the provisions of S. G. Ter-Minasova on sociocultural connotations and L. L. Nelyubin on the nature of connotative meanings. The main results demonstrate persistent linguistic and cultural differences. In international discourse, the concept of INNOVATION functions as a value flagship, verbalized through collocations such as “innovative solutions,” “co-create,” and “AI,” occupying headline positions. The concept of RESILIENCE receives a direct nomination (“resilient world”). In Russian discourse, INNOVATION is represented implicitly, while RESILIENCE lacks a separate lexical objectification, being semantically assimilated by the concept of SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT.
