This methodological study aimed to develop a reliable and valid scale to measure nursing students' attitudes toward the use of ChatGPT in nursing education. This study was conducted at a state university in Turkey from April to September 2023. Scale development involved literature review, expert panel review and content validity analysis, pilot testing, exploratory factor analysis (EFA) with 246 nursing students, and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with 310 nursing students. The content validity index for the retained items was 0.92. EFA yielded a two-factor, 16-item structure (Learning Process Support and Clinical Skill Guidance) explaining 80.66% of the total variance, and CFA supported good model fit. Internal consistency was excellent (Cronbach's α = 0.938 for the total scale; 0.993 and 0.921 for the two subscales). The ChatGPT Attitude Scale for Nursing Education provides initial evidence as a valid and reliable tool for assessing nursing students' attitudes toward ChatGPT in nursing education.
