Hyperhidrosis is characterized by excessive activity of the eccrine sweat glands, resulting in persistent, bilateral, and relatively symmetrical sweating beyond physiological requirements for thermoregulation. Among its various forms, palmar hyperhidrosis is particularly impactful due to its direct interference with manual dexterity and functional tasks. In medical and healthcare settings, precise hand function is essential for clinical examinations, procedural accuracy, and patient safety. Excessive palmar sweating may therefore compromise work efficiency, increase procedural difficulty, and contribute to psychological distress, including embarrassment and reduced self-confidence. This study aims to examine the effects of palmar hyperhidrosis on work efficiency among medical professionals, exploring its prevalence, functional limitations, and perceived impact on occupational performance. Understanding these effects is crucial for developing targeted interventions, workplace accommodations, and management strategies that can improve both professional performance and quality of life among affected individuals.
