Using the tunneling technique, studies are made of both the density of states variation in superconductors and the magnetic field dependence of the Josephson current (i.e., the flow of Cooper pairs across an insulating barrier). The measurements are made on metal-- insulator-superconductor and superconductor - insulator - superconductor junctions. (T.F.H.)
