A geometric propagation model is developed for simulation of the dense scatterer mobile radio communications environment. The model is validated by direct comparison of diffuse Doppler spectra with theoretical spectra for directional antennas and narrowband signals. The model is then used to predict fading statistics for direct-sequence pseudonoise (DSPN) signaling combined with directional antennas. As expected, the mitigation of fading is closely related to the ratio of DSPN chip duration to delay spread of the scatterer medium.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
