In the present study, the vibrational behavior of a rotating composite beam subjected to a follower force at the free side is investigated. The cantilever beam is made of an isotropic matrix reinforced by carbon nanotubes (CNTs) based on specific functions through the thickness of the beam. Euler-Bernoulli beam theory and Ritz numerical solution are employed to derive the mathematical model of the composite beam. A comprehensive discussion regarding the effects of different parameters such as the distribution geometry of CNTs, the volume fraction of CNTs, the rotational speed, and the size of hub radius on the vibration behavior of the rotating composite beam reinforced by CNTs is presented.
