A preliminary redefinition of woolly monkey Lagothrix lagothricha basic vocalisation repertoire was made from the analysis of the vocalisations from a captive colony of woolly monkeys. Modern bioacoustic methods were used on a woolly monkey group showing complex and species typical behaviour. Spectrograms, percentages of the occurrence of the basic vocalisation types, and analyses of eolk vocalisations were made. The results show that six basic vocalisation types can be found in this species, and that the eolk type is the most common.
