The increased pass rate of students is selected in this study as an objective of quality improvement. The pass rate is analysed using individual data on MBA students. According to the results of the study, the characteristics that are related to the students' previous success have positive effects on the probability of graduation. The graduation rate of in-house training has been remarkably higher than in the individual programmes. The long and demanding courses have a negative effect on the graduation rate, but the applied courses that have less theory, reading and written work have positive effects on the pass rate. It is shown that the characteristics of education have more importance than the characteristics of the students and their employers. The results of this study help the educational authorities to plan the proactive initiatives to control the quality of university education.
