Does a time-varying filter electrocardiographic gating device reduce gradient artifacts and allow accurate ECG assessment in acutely ill cardiac patients during NMR imaging?
A time-varying filter ECG gating device reduces NMR-induced gradient artifacts, enabling accurate ECG monitoring of acutely ill cardiac patients during MRI.
May support ECG monitoring during MRI; leaves open validation in larger acutely ill cohorts before practice change.
A time-varying filter electrocardiographic gating device designed to reduce NMR-induced gradient artifacts during NMR imaging of the acutely ill cardiac patient is described. When used in conjunction with multiple electrocardiographic display monitors, accurate assessment of the electrocardiogram for morphologic changes and arrhythmias during all phases of the NMR examination is possible.
