This paper estimates the number of mobiles which will go for recycling and scrapped in India till year 2020. In this paper time series models are applied on mobile sales data. The model identified was Holt Trend Exponential Smoothing and Auto Regressive Integrated Moving Averages model. The paper fits data in the most appropriate model based on study of trend and seasonality present in the data. To study the pattern of mobile change over years, the primary data collected from the 543 mobile users. Monthly data of number of mobiles received for repair/exchange was collected from 200 mobile repair shops. This study helps to estimate the scrapped mobiles, the number of mobiles can go for repair shop and the number of mobiles which are sent for recycling. The paper shows that very few mobiles are going for recycling and exponential growth of mobile waste.
