The authors Yang et al. demonstrate partial rescue of the lethal factor V (-)(-) phenotype in one of several (twelve) expression lines using a factor V minigene under control of an albumin promoter. The surviving progeny display low (0.1%) factor V and the authors conclude that mice expressing very low levels of factor V are capable of survival although they do have a hemorrhagic impairment which can be elicited following tail wounding.
