Assesses effective mass in neutrino-nucleus scattering, suggesting significant kinematic effects.
In the present work, we calculate the inclusive charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering from 12 C in quasielastic region. To do that, we use the Korea-IBS-Daegu-SKKU functional which is one of the energy density functional nuclear models and the SLy4 stemmed from the Skyrme force. The electron- and muon-neutrino are used as incident beams. By comparing with the MINER ν A data, we investigate the role of the in-medium effective mass of nucleon on single and double differential cross sections obtained in terms of several kinematic variables, which are the sum of the kinetic energy of final states at fixed three momentum transfer, the angle of the outgoing lepton, the polar angle of the final nucleon, and the squared four momentum transfer Q 2 . The influence of the effective mass in the inclusive charged-current neutrino-nucleus scattering is distinguished apparently for the theoretical cross sections in terms of the above several kinematic variables. In particular, the effect of the effective mass is sensitive to the kinematics.
