Evaluates high-fidelity trajectory predictions from Earth to Mars, indicating improved mission planning.
This work presents a high-fidelity computational framework for simulating Earth-to-Mars interplanetary trajectories using Lambert targeting combined with fourth-order Runge-Kutta (RK4) numerical integration. Unlike simplified two-body models, the proposed simulation incorporates multi-body gravitational effects including Jovian perturbations. The framework demonstrates trajectory evolution, velocity variation, and convergence toward Mars while comparing the results against classical Hohmann transfer approximations. The study highlights the significance of perturbative modeling and validates numerical integration techniques for realistic mission-level trajectory prediction.
