It was noted that the postgraduate courses in psychological medicine offered by the American College of Physicians have failed to attract many applicants. A number of possible explanations were offered for the disinterest of internists toward courses in psychiatry—for example, their preoccupation with physical disorder or the "hard" or acute manifestations of disease rather than their "soft"...References1.
