A 15-year-old boy developed hysterical seizures after a threatened homosexual rape. Hypnosis facilitated the formation of a therapeutic alliance and allowed for abreaction of the traumatic experience with complete resolution of his symptoms. The dynamics of unconscious fear of homosexuality in relation to the development of hysterical seizures is discussed.
