The 5th Industrial Revolution (5IR) is defined by the integration of digital, physical, and biological technologies. This revolution presents unique challenges and opportunities for libraries and information science professionals who must adapt to a rapidly evolving landscape. This article explores how libraries and information science professionals can be equipped to navigate and thrive in the 5IR, focusing on the necessary skills, technologies, and strategic shifts required for their success. The paper examines the role of artificial intelligence (AI), automation, big data, blockchain, and digital transformation in reshaping library services, information management, and user interactions. The paper also highlighted the Pros of 5IR, which includes; enhanced access to information, improved users experience amongst others and its cons, Job displacements and skill gaps amongst others. By leveraging AI for personalized services, automation for efficiency, blockchain for secure information management, and big data for decision-making, libraries can continue to serve as central nodes in the knowledge economy.
