Demonstrates improved supercapacitor performance using eco-friendly carbon quantum dots sourced from Bougainvillea flowers, suggesting a sustainable energy solution.
The rising need for sustainable energy has driven researchers to focus on eco‐friendly innovations for supercapacitors (SCs). In this research, we introduce an affordable and sustainable pathway for synthesizing carbon quantum dots (CQDs) from Bougainvillea flowers employing a hydrothermal approach, promoting the formation of green electrode materials for SCs. Within various carbon nanocomposites, CQDs have garnered noteworthy consideration as SCs electrode materials. Structural and morphological analyses were carried out by via SEM, TEM, FTIR, XRD, BET, and zeta potential etc. The obtained CQDs exhibits high specific surface area (SSA) of 512 m 2 g −1 . The CQDs synthesized from Bougainvillea shows a specific capacitance ( C sp ) of 332 F g −1 and excellent capacitance maintenance of 96.5% over 2000 cycles. The green synthesis method is highly regarded for its environmentally friendly nature, cost‐effectiveness, and ability to develop efficient electrode materials for excellent performance SCs.
