Systematic review compares clinical and functional outcomes of two fixation methods in patients undergoing four-corner arthrodesis, suggesting effective treatment options.
This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to evaluate and compare the clinical, functional, and radiologic outcomes of dorsal locking plate (DLP) fixation versus headless compression screw (HCS) fixation in patients undergoing four-corner arthrodesis (4CF). Conforming to the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) guidelines, a comprehensive literature search was performed across major electronic databases—including PubMed, EMBASE, the Cochrane Library, and Scopus—up to January 2026. The primary and secondary outcomes of interest include nonunion/union rates, overall complication and reoperation rates, postoperative range of motion (ROM), and functional wrist scores. Statistical pooling and meta-analysis were executed using R software. This repository hosts the formal study protocol, literature search strategies, and methodological frameworks to ensure the transparency, rigor, and reproducibility of the comparative synthesis.
