Validates the Arabic Work and Meaning Inventory in public sector workers, highlighting its cultural relevance.
The study validates the Arabic version of the Work and Meaning Inventory (WAMI) in a sample of 351 Algerian public sector workers, marking the first psychometric and network analysis of the scale in an Arabic-speaking, Muslim-majority, collectivist context. It employs confirmatory factor analysis with robust maximum likelihood estimation, reliability and validity assessments, multi-group invariance testing across gender and age, and EBICglasso network modeling to examine item interconnectivity and centrality. The research advances cross-cultural positive psychology by offering a culturally adapted tool for assessing meaningful work and its implications for well-being in non-Western settings.
