As a sustainable type of travel, ecotourism has become an essential instrument for promoting cultural preservation, environmental conservation, and rural economic development.Finding out how traditional and contemporary eating habits contribute to the expansion of ecotourism and rural economies is the aim of this study. Primary data served as the foundation for the study. The findings demonstrated that traditional culinary customs, which are ingrained in the local way of life, are becoming more widely acknowledged as essential to the genuineness and allure of ecotourism experiences. At the same time, contemporary culinary trends like organic farming, farm-to-table dining, and fusion cuisine satisfy the changing tastes of ecotourists looking for creative and sustainable dining experiences.In order to generate a distinctive tourism appeal, it emphasizes how local communities should preserve traditional recipes, promote locally sourced ingredients, and adjust to contemporary sustainability practices. According to a survey, 69% of participants think traditional culinary customs are essential for boosting tourism, while 30% think they are just marginally significant. Of the participants, 40% had some experience with ecotourism, and about 50% are familiar with it. Regarding cuisine, 51% of respondents believe that a mix of modern and traditional cuisine draws tourists, whilst 37% choose only traditional cuisine. Lack of knowledge (54%), inadequate infrastructure (25%), and competition from contemporary methods (18%) are the main issues impacting traditional food practices. Modern culinary techniques are thought to foster creativity (47%) and attract tourists who are health-conscious (34%). 42% concur that integrating both can improve ecotourism, despite 69% of respondents thinking that contemporary methods trump traditional ones.This study investigates howcombining contemporary and traditional culinary techniques might spur economic development in rural areas. According to the research, a successful fusion of contemporary and traditional culinary techniques can boost rural communities' ecological and cultural allure, boost tourism, and promote long-term economic prosperity. This study emphasizes the value of government assistance, community engagement, and cooperative partnerships in utilizing food practices as a key factor in the growth of ecotourism and rural prosperity.
