Integrative framework maps human participation and continuity, suggesting new structures for sustainability.
This paper presents an integrative overview of the Participation & Continuity Framework, a six-layer structural analysis of human participation, continuity, and civilizational sustainability. The framework emerged from a recurring observation: Participation remains active. Continuity collapses. Across six interconnected papers, the framework examines how modern participation systems may generate increasing activation while simultaneously destabilizing long-term continuity through burnout, nervous system exhaustion, participation fatigue, escalation dependency, and continuity fragmentation. The paper maps six analytical layers: • Participation Continuity • Participation Economy • Quiet Infrastructure • Continuity Without Activation • Continuity Stewardship • Continuity Beyond Growth Together, these layers explore the structural relationship between participation, continuity, stewardship, sustainability, and civilizational persistence. Rather than proposing a completed theory, the framework introduces the concept of Continuity Civilization and asks what kinds of social, economic, environmental, and civilizational architectures may sustain meaningful human participation across generations.
