Preprint reports enhanced charge storage in symmetric supercapacitors via interfacial engineering of BiVO4/V2CTx materials.
This preprint reports the synthesis and electrochemical evaluation of 2D/2D BiVO4/V2CTx heterostructures as electrode materials for symmetric supercapacitors. The study investigates the influence of interfacial engineering between BiVO4 and V2CTx MXene on charge storage performance in acidic, neutral, and alkaline electrolytes. Comprehensive structural, morphological, and surface characterization combined with cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic charge–discharge, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy reveal enhanced capacitance, improved charge transfer, and excellent cycling stability arising from synergistic interfacial interactions within the heterostructure. The results demonstrate the potential of BiVO4/V2CTx composites for advanced aqueous energy-storage applications.
