Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of those phrases that can strike fear into a veterinary team. Every other day there is a headline in the mainstream media about how AI is ‘coming for our jobs’, or going to take over the world, so this fear may not be entirely misplaced. However, thankfully, in the veterinary world we are still some way away from being replaced. Instead, AI is augmenting, and the panacea is one where we as veterinary professionals can spend more time hands on with pets, communicating with owners and, perhaps most importantly, having adequate downtime to avoid burnout. This article outlines how you can begin to integrate AI tools into your practice and build your team's confidence while doing so.
