Does a new algorithm using ECG during sleep accurately estimate circadian rhythm compared to core temperature?
An ECG-based algorithm during sleep can successfully estimate the lowest point of circadian rhythm, offering a potential alternative to core temperature measurement.
May offer noninvasive circadian assessment via sleep ECG; leaves open validation against core temperature before clinical adoption.
In this study, we focused on the circadian rhythm estimation by using electrocardiogram (ECG) during sleep. We evaluated the effectivity of this new algorithm as compared with circadian rhythm measured by core temperature. As a result, we succeeded in estimation of the time and heart rate value to reach the lowest point in circadian rhythm.
