Abstract In many practical applications we wish to select one product (commodity, plant variety, technique, etc.) from a set of alternative products. When there are only two products to be considered, this will be called the two-choice selection problem. Several alternative rules are derived for determining sample sizes, i.e., the amount of data on which the selection is to be based.
